Safer London Foundation (SLF) want to recruit 20 young people aged between 16 and 25 to be part of their Youth Advisory Group.

SLF is working with nine uniformed groups to let young people know aobut the amazing activities they could be involved in by joining a group and to encourage more adult volunteering.

Activities include;

  •  learning to fly a plane,
  • sail a boat,
  • abseil down a mountain,
  • scale a rock face
  • wilderness camping or gorge walking
  • water ski
  • volunteer at festivals or film premieres

What are uniformed groups?

Uniformed groups include groups such as the cadets, scouts, boys or girls brigade - these groups put on activities to help young people develop skills that would benefit their community.

What will I be doing?

  • help develop and run marketing and communications for activities;
  • taking part in promoting the uniformed group project;
  • talking to other young people about how they could get involved;
  • advising on how to get adults involved in volunteering

What skills do I need?

SFL is looking for young people who are really good at talking to other young people and adults.  Are familiar with digital media such as blogging and social networking. You will also be able to work in a team and BE CREATIVE!

Do I need to be a member of a uniformed group?

No

Do I get paid?

This is a voluntary role,  but SLF will cover your travel and subsistence expenses. You will be required to attend one monthly meeting in central London and other activities can then be worked around your current schedule.
