What is Somewhereto_?

Somewhereto_ is a nationwide project to help young people find the space they need to do the things they love, whether it's sport, culture or the arts.

Inspired by the London 2012 Olympics, their aim is to help improve the lives of thousands of young people and create thousands of success stories, today and in the future.

It also inspire young people to think differently about space and what it can be. Young people need space,  it might be a dance studio, a warehouse, or a basketball court. But it could also be a digital space – a well-known blog, column inches in a magazine, time on-air or on-screen.

How does it work?

In every region of the UK, regional coordinators are working with young people who need a space, and individuals or organisations with access to or influence over how spaces are used in their local communities.

Reginal coordinators help to unlock high-profile, ‘dream’ spaces: spaces young people would never usually be able to access for everyday use.

Most recently, Somewhereto_ were at Number 10, where free runners, boxers and spoken word artists spent the day doing the things they love and filming a trail about what space means to them:

Who runs Somewhereto_?

The project is run by Livity, in partnership with Channel 4, the project is funded by Legacy Trust UK, an independent charity set up to help build a lasting cultural and sporting legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games across the UK.

A few years back, Livity saw a gap in how many young people wanted to pursue their sporting and cultural passions, and available resources. A pilot was launched to open up spaces and, after seeing demand grow, somewhereto_ is now being rolled out nationwide.

How do I find a space on Somewhereto_?

It's really simple, just log on to Somewhereto_ website and click on 'find a space' and browse spaces available near you.  You must complete an easy online form with your details and a reginal coordinator will be in touch.
